Gospel Piano: Feel It, Play It

Dive into the soul of gospel piano with this hands-on course that strips away the mystery and gets straight to what makes this style tick.

You’ll build from the ground up – starting with the vital “Sunday Scale” that gives gospel its distinctive flavor, then exploring how triads and chord voicings create that rich sound you’re after.

Beyond just theory, you’ll develop your ear for those signature gospel moments – the perfect grace notes, blue chords, and half-step approaches that make listeners feel something. Peter Martin guides you through five progressive levels, showing exactly how to apply each technique as you go. No more wondering how gospel pianists create those moving moments in church – this course breaks down the pathways, clichés (the good kind!), and rhythmic elements that transform ordinary playing into authentic gospel piano that tells your musical story.
